Then comes the work: open the editor, trim the dead 'um' at the start, crop out the OS chrome, balance the audio, hide the notification that popped up, export. By the time the clip is share-ready, the demo's energy is gone and so is your hour.
SmartCut does the editing while you record.
Define the region once. SmartCut auto-detects when you're talking versus thinking and trims the dead air in real-time. It mutes obvious noise (keyboard clack, fan hum, hallway voices) without touching your speech. Notifications are auto-hidden during recording. The OS chrome is detected and cropped.
When you stop, the file you save is already clip-ready. No editor, no second pass, no 20-minute postprocess. If you do want a deeper edit, the file ships with all the metadata an editor needs (transcript, scene markers, original audio track) so trimming further is one click in any tool.
Live trim
Detects speech versus thinking pauses and removes dead air as you record. Output is tight, energetic, share-ready.
Selective denoise
Mutes keyboard clack, fan noise, and hallway sounds without touching speech. Trained on real recording environments — not lab samples.
Auto-crop chrome
Detects the OS title bar, taskbar, and dock — crops them out automatically so the recording shows only your content.
Notification suppression
While recording, SmartCut suppresses notifications at the OS level so they don't pop into your demo. Restored the moment you stop.
Transcript + scene markers
Every recording ships with a synced transcript and auto-detected scene markers (where you switched apps, opened a window, etc.). Makes further editing or excerpting trivial.
